I always struggled with deciding what I wanted to do when I left school. What career I wanted and overall what I wanted to do with my life. But watching you throughout the election (and before and after) talk about the issue of women's rights truly inspired me. I know of how you have spoken constantly about the importance of equality throughout your career, whether it be in 1995 when you made the famous "Women's rights are human rights" speech, or your speech post-election when you talked about how girls deserve every chance and opportunity in the world.
Hearing you speak about women's rights has made me realise how passionate I am about the issue as well. I know you started your career in law, and I plan to also take this route. I am going to study law at university and then I hope to get an internship with the United Nations - they offer positions that would give me the chance to work around human rights. I would however, like to be a human rights lawyer, something that you have inspired me to work towards.
So this letter to you is to let you know that if I do achieve the career I want, and if I change someone's life by fighting for them, that it's because you made me realise that it was possible for me to do it - and for that I am unbelievably grateful.
Thank you.
