I was so little when Purple Rain came out and even back then his music brought so much joy into my life. I was about 7 years old when the movie came out and I loved it! He was my first crush and I remember wishing I could meet him. Shortly after I got to see him in concert and I was in awe. Some say I was too young to know what his music was about but all I knew is when I played his music I was swept away and just caught up in it and everything just faded away. I grew up in an abusive home and my only escape and solitude was his music. As I got older his music continued to soothe me...although I never did meet him, I miss him. My heart aches over his loss.
