Forever in our liVes

Prince has always meant a lot to me, and I've been a huge fan since my teens, but I guess a part of my life that Prince has affected most would be the story of how my future husband and I got together. We both worked at the same company in London and I heard he was a Prince fan, but I never brought it up because I didn't believe anyone could like him as much as me! I was away when 20Ten came out in the Mirror newspaper, so he got a copy for me and the moment he asked which song I liked best from the album was the moment I realised I had a serious crush! Anyway fast forward over a year and multiple Prince "advent calendars" of the unreleased stuff I didn't have (he said he had so much he could send me a song I'd never heard every day, and he did!), we got together. Then came trips to see him play at Montreux and hours and hours of queueing for the London Hit and Run shows and now five years on we're getting married in a few weeks. I'll be going down the aisle to the intro of Sometimes It Snows In April, bittersweet since the 21st but it was always our choice, first dance will be Slow Love and our confetti purple butterflies. We can't believe he's gone but we were so, so lucky to have him. This is my favourite photo I took of him, he's playing bass at the Roundhouse in 2014. xXx
