Purple Rain 1985

Annonymous   —

My Aunt and I are huge Prince fans. His music has seen me through countless trials and tribulations of life. We went to see him in concert in 1985 in Chicago for his Purple Rain tour. We were seated in the fourth row. Amazing seats. I remember being surprised at how short he was, even in his classic heels. Man, what a show he put on. We actually saw him the very next night also, only much further away this time.
Anyway... As he was getting ready to sing The Beautiful Ones he was seated at his piano and a hush fell over the crowd. I took this as my opportunity to yell.... "I love you Prince". He leaned into his mic and looked into the sea of people and replied "I love you too, baby. ". I could have died!!! That was one of the most amazing experiences in my lifetime. Also, when he was "stroking" his guitar for Darling Nikki he sprayed water from his guitar all over my Aunt and I. As well as other people there, of course. It was an amazing show... I will never forget. I took his death especially hard because, even though I know he didn't know me , I feel like we had a connection of some sort. After all, he told me he loved me. A picture of my first tattoo is below...
My tribute to His Purple Badness. A musical genius.
