Forever and a Day by Leslie Dodson

Annonymous   —

I have written a few poems about Prince. This came today.

Forever and a Day

The Prince has been gone just over a month
There has been pain, tears, and mournful hearts
loneliness, limbo, and denial
We his friends will sing his songs
Forever and a day

Paisley Park now broken and bare
without his purple hue
Take heart my friends it's quite alright
His gift to us not brick and morter but his art
Forever and a day

The time has come to sing with joy
To love others as he loved us
Give thanks for what he gave us
To share the gifts that we've been given
Forever and a day

Picture this those dear to him
His mom and dad will greet
Returning home to embrace his son
Love in the purist form
Forever and a day

So, it is time to let our Prince
Soar and sing with angels
It is our gift to him to let him rest
Until we dance and sing with him once more
Forever and a day
