Prince Fan almost my whole life

Annonymous   —

I really started getting into Prince's music heavily when I was eleven-years-old. I felt like pretty much like an outcast and a loner growing up. I didn't have a whole lot of friends and still don't, his music always made me feel it was alright for me to be myself. Every time Prince put out an album I always bought it. Anytime he was on a magazine cover I had to have the magazine. It was like I needed to have him in my life. I would lock myself up in my room just listening to his music for hours on end. There was funk, rock, jazz, pop, blues, classical etc....all different kinds of genres to explore with Prince. The lyrics were practically poetic in most of his songs. Deep messages about spirituality and finding meaning within exploring one's sexuality. There was so much depth to Prince and I could name songs and albums but my story would be so long. I felt Prince was definitely connected to a higher power that was more powerful than anything that could be found in this world. He had such an influence on me from the way I dressed to the music I listened to and how I saw this world. I got lost in the funky rhythms and supreme beautiful melodies of his music. If I was stuck on some deserted island in the middle of no where, his albums would be the only albums I would take with me to listen too. Sign O' Times, Purple Rain, 1999, Around the World In A Day and Parade are some of my favorite albums of all time. Prince and his music was always an incredible journey to explore and I am happy I went on the ride. I will miss my favorite musician of all time and the incredible gift of music he gave me.
