Thank u prince

Prince was my teacher during my teenage years and will continue to be... I remember hearing Erotic City as a child in my older cousins car when he drove me to get some ice cream... I was so happy when I rediscovered it and Prince when I was 13. Living in Australia it's not often we have artists visiting, it can be expensive for fans and promoters. I was lucky to see Prince perform at 3 different tours, the pic is one I took at one of the W2A shows in Melbourne.
Mind blowing show as they always are. I was very lucky to see 3 of his shows the last tour, I convinced family and friends to buy me tickets as an early birthday gift and it worked. His piano and microphone shows were unlike anything I had experienced before. Denise's (Vanity) death had just been announced yet the show went on... He was emotional, expressive and shared so much with us. It was beautiful, many tears were shed. After the last shows in Melbourne there was an after party, I was happy to get inside.
Prince arrived and stayed behind the barrier until the DJ dropped Rufus & Chaka's "Do You Love What You Feel" and Prince jumped out of the roped off area and danced in a cypher with us, he had the best moves and we couldn't believe he danced with us like that... Later on he was chatting with Kirky J - early on he sent Kirky to tell the DJ to stop playing Head - they were standing near fruit platters, my friends had already asked Kirky for some fruit and when I locked eyes Prince that was it, I needed to speak with him... "Prince, can you please pass me some watermelon" he lifted the platter and nodded... That was my only interaction with his Royal Badness and it was the greatest decision I had made. He knew I loved him as did everyone else in that spca so that wasn't necessary but in that moment asking for watermelon was... As Prince and his entourage got up to leave this party a lady came up to me with a fresh fruit platter and said "Prince wants you to have this and to share it with your friends", I will never in my life taste fruit like that again... That was the greatest, most delicious and an unforgettable platter of fruit. Watermelon will never taste the same and I'm so pleased about that... Thank U for the music, being true to yourself and for the fruit platter. We love you and will miss you until the end of time...
