He had swagger!

I was 10 when Prince came out with little red Corvette. I knew then he'd be a star. More hits followed and Purple Rain soundtrack broke my boombox cause I played it constantly. He was and still is one of my favorites. The beautiful ones and purple rain were my two favorite songs on that soundtrack. As a child we grow up listening to legends like Prince, thinking they will live forever. It was very shocking and sad to hear that we had lost another star, but heaven gained one of the brightest stars to ever grace our presence.
His talent was undeniable, his stage presence consumed you and his music flowed through our veins like maple syrup, smooth and soothing..
He had funk, he had swagger, he could bring you to your knees while he shred on his guitar. He was one in a million that we may never see the likes of in music for a long time!!
A lot of kids don't know or understand how he influenced those who grew up listening to him but my kids did, even texting me to notify me of Prince's passing and asking if I was okay. I lied and said I was okay but I wasn't. I never got to see him in concert and sad that I never will.
But I have his music in my heart and etched forever in my mind.. I will always dance on Alphabet Street, in the purple rain, dream of having a little red Corvette, remembering he was one of the beautiful ones, inspired by him to go crazy, wearing my raspberry beret! RIP Prince, I can't wait to meet you in the afterworld!!!
