The soundtrack to my Life

Annonymous   —

When "Soft and Wet" came out I was in the 10th grade. In Los Angeles, the Crenshaw District, there was a record store called V.I.P. Records. They had a promotion for the "For You" album. We received book covers and posters of Prince. I was a music aficionado!!! Listened to both sides straight through. I was in love. My favorite song was " Just as Long as We're Together ". I was amazed he wrote the songs and played all the instruments!!! The first concert I attended was the Controversy Tour. Once I saw him live, that's all there was; I was hooked!!! I love his music, but to see him live was something everyone should experience. I think I saw him about 16 times over the years. He never disappointed. He left it all onstage. I suffer from a chronic illness. There were so many days Prince's music helped me get through. I feel as if we grew up together in a way. When he passed away, it felt as if a family member had died. I wish I could have thanked him for all he gave us. I know my sorrow is selfish; however, I take great joy in the everlasting fact that now Prince is pain-free... Rest with the Angels Prince, you accomplished what you were put on earth to do. Rest in eternal peace our sweet Prince ????????????
