Raised a boy that became a man

1979 i was going on 11 & i was full of turmoil. It was during this time that I was told that my daddy wasn't my daddy.here I am feeling as empty as I've ever felt, no brothers or sisters to talk too, just me & a radio/tv/turntable combo that I clung to everyday. It was my only escape,I was shy & very much to myself. One day a song came on that wasn't like anything else I'd heard. The drum was pounding & the bass was thumping & I found happiness in a song called Soft & Wet. That was a grown person song but I was hooked. Fast forward to 1983, my mom & dad got a divorce which left me in a stay here, stay there, make no friends cause i won't be around to keep them kind of place. I relied heavily on Prince music to get me through all the constant changes that were coming my way. Death of my stepdad saw Purple Rain played over & over, especially since my last name is Dove (WHEN DOVES CRY) I believed in Prince music & in his own way he helped raise this troubled little boy to the man that i am today. The tears keep falling & there's alot more i could say but I'll end it here & say thank you for allowing me a moment to say what Prince means to me. I thank God for him. My Prince pose lol (fail)
