It took one voice daring to stand alone. That one voice sparked a flame that grew within our hearts. Soon that one voice became two. That lone whisper became a chorus soaring to great heights. Leading the way, exemplifying what one man can do by allowing us to discover the magic within - standing tall was such a man, John Denver.

Things change as we grow older...things that we value, overlook, lose, or that simply pass us by. Today's plans and dreams so quickly pass from reality to become tomorrow's memories.

There was a time in my life when I felt like a giant jigsaw puzzle. One that had been thrown into the air and landed on the ground upside down and all mixed up. That part of me that felt like a motley puzzle started becoming whole the night I attended a John Denver concert. The next day I began an incredible journey.

John Denver and Tom Crum shared a dream, and that dream became a reality in The Windstar Foundation. At Windstar, I experienced first-hand the oneness of humankind. Along the way I learned important lessons and found myself not only soaring down mountaintops, but soaring in my own personal growth. The Windstar Foundation added to life that necessary spirit of adventure without which nothing is accomplished. Accomplishments were made that even today are far-reaching, and never ending.

It should be noted, The Windstar Foundation had many functions. It enriched our lives with friendships, and a wealth of creativity, truth, and knowledge. It reshaped our concepts of what could be by not only presenting a wider understanding of life, but it stirred in our hearts a strong emotional response to that understanding. We didn't merely know something, we actually felt something. Windstar gave me the confidence to try new experiences. Along with Jean Preece and Donna Lipman, we originated The New York Windstar Connection. It is still making a positive difference in New York City. The Windstar Foundation is responsible for many of my treasured friendships. Friends I would never have met if not for joining the foundation. Windstar was firmly planted within our hearts, nurturing a spirit that compelled us to live wisely - not only for ourselves but for future generations.

John Denver and Tom Crum opened their hearts and let so many of us in and for this I will be forever grateful. If there ever was a Camelot, Windstar was ours, taking us to great heights.

You've written that so beautifully Rosemary. I'm so pleased that the Windstar legacy is still going strong there. In the UK I think we need some injection of this hope you share, people seem to have lost it unfortunately.
