John Denver"s music came into my life when I was about 12 years old through a record album my sister's friend brought over to share with us. From the moment I heard the first song I was hooked.
John Denver became a huge part of my life from that moment on. His music taught me about love and family life what is important and what is not. What normal was. My family was very dysfunctional and I found peace and comfort in his music. The sound of his voice would soothe my soul. It still does. I would get made fun of at school for being a "John Denver fan" - but no one could ever take away the comfort his music gave to me. He taught me many things through his music- things I didn't get taught by my parents. His music goes far deeper than he is given credit for. Most of his best pieces are barely even known to the general public.
I was fortunate to be able to meet him the night of his last concert ever in Detroit Michigan. A moment I will always treasure and a memory I will never forget!!
