John Denver, a special person

John Denver became a part of my life when I was 12 years old. It was in 1974, a trip my family was taking out west when I first heard Rocky Mountain High on the radio. I loved that song and found out it was sung by John Denver. I was hooked from there and have never stopped loving his music as well as he himself. I would attend concerts, cut out every article I could find. I've been on trips to view him even when I did not have a ticket. Just so I could say "hello". I even had my butt planted on the door of his limo at the Fox Theater in Detroit after his show so I could just say hello once again. It was great as he and I stood right apart from each other and looked into each of our eyes. I know he did not think anything but I was in heaven! I enjoyed a trip to Aspen for the First get together to make the garden which is still there. It was so much fun and made friends there as well. I was so shocked and saddened the day he died. I received calls from many of my friends who knew I would be upset to say the least. To John's family...Annie, Zak, Anna Kate, and his now deceased mom I still think you guys are great for all you do. John was lucky to have you guys around him. Take care and always keep singing...Heidi Kremkus Konopka
