It's like choosing between children for me...which is maybe a bad comparison, because right after I typed that I decided I definitely have a favorite. On my left arm I got a tattoo of a scene from my favorite children's book, "Guess How Much I Love You." My mom used to read it to me all the time, and when I decided I wanted to get a tattoo for her, it just came right to mind and I knew immediately it was the right thing to do.
I picked my favorite image from it and brought it to Terry Morgan, who does all of my stuff. I said "hey, I want this image but I want you to make it traditional so it goes with the rest of my stuff." And he totally killed it as always. The colors are so vivid and I get stopped all the time (by mothers, no less!) in public by people who say it's one of the coolest and sweetest tattoos they've ever seen.
The rabbits and the background are right from the book, but Terry added the border and the flower and the banner, which says "TO THE MOON AND BACK;" in the book, that's how much the baby rabbit and the mommy rabbit say they love each other. It's the only tattoo I came home with that my mother didn't roll her eyes at. When my ink comes up in conversation, she always tells the person "look at that one; that one was for me."
