To those non-Irish out there who may not understand the word "craic", it means fun or enjoyment. To walk the streets of Ireland and hear people converse about it, a tourist may think the whole country is on drugs because the pronunciation of it sounds like "crack". Music definitely goes hand in hand with a good ol craic time and my family has been known to throw some wild parties. These events have created a lot of fond memories for me.
Growing up Irish, there are just some things your ma never tells you. Take the word 'pissed'. In America it means 'mad' while here in Ireland it means 'drunk'. If there's one or two things in life I've learned, it's your parents should tell you everything they know and never refer to a priest as pissed (drunk) when he's actually pissed (mad). Believe me, there's a big difference.
