On February 15, 2015, I saw a post from Classic Canines about a sweet little girl named Sunny, and I knew I had to go get her. My granddaughter and I rushed off to rescue Sunny, but little did I know she was really going to rescue me.
Sunny had heartworms when we adopted her, but she made it through treatment with no issues, and she quickly became my Sunny Sunshine. She had these little crooked teeth that were just the cutest, and she would run around the yard with a silly little gallop that always made me smile.
In early 2019 Sunny developed a terrible cough, so we took her to our vet and got the bad news that Sunny was in heart failure. We would only have a few more months with her. On May 19, 2019, our sweet girl passed away in my arms, right here at home. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and wish that we'd had more time with our Sunny Sunshine.
