Bessie, April and Bandit Moo, also known as the Minimoos, are three rescue pit bulls living in Austin, Texas.

Bessie was rescued from Austin Pets Alive! as an eight-week old puppy. She had been brought to Austin from a shelter in Houston and was severely undernourished. After six months of fighting various illnesses, Bessie is a happy and healthy girl! She has the happiest spirit and loves all other people and animals! Bessie takes her role as the first dog in the house seriously. She likes to keep order in the house and make sure her siblings are doing what they should!

April was found as a pregnant stray in Fresno, California, and taken in by Animal Compassion Team. She was being fostered by an amazing bully rescuer, and we were following her for months on Instagram. Finally, all of April’s puppies had been adopted, and we submitted an application to adopt April. It was a long shot, being located in Texas, but it seemed that April would be the perfect companion and playmate for Bessie. In one of the best surprises ever, we were approved as April’s adopters, and after a four-day car trip—twenty-four hours of driving each way—April came to live in Texas! She is the happiest girl and full of personality. She loves food, being spoiled by her parents, and playing ball!

Bandit is the third Moo. He was discovered by a volunteer at a shelter outside of Kansas City, Missouri. He was labeled as aggressive with other dogs, but he looked like a Moo, and his big, sweet eyes were begging to be rescued. Vanessa advocated for him on Instagram, hoping a nearby family would take him, but he did not get adopted, and we started to worry that he was going to get put down. Vanessa raised money to get him out of the shelter and into a boarding and training program in Texas. Through work with his trainer, being on a consistent diet, and outside the stress of the shelter, Bandit turned into a big loving boy that plays well with other dogs! After about three months of training, we added him to the Moo family, and he is the perfect dog to round out the pack. Bandit thinks he’s a lap dog, and he loves to cuddle with his parents and siblings!
