We met Miles through one of my running club friends, and it was love at first sight. He immediately connected with us—especially with our three kids—and he greets everyone he meets with enthusiasm, hugs, and kisses! We know his previous family had to give him up because they were moving to an apartment that didn't allow big dogs, but we don't know much else about his past, other than that he spent time at several shelters.

What I love most about Miles is that he shares my love of running. We adopted him in spring of 2015, right before I began training for my first marathon. We started out slow together, but I quickly realized he was becoming my new BRF (best running friend). Miles is a chocolate lab, so we were initially concerned about potential joint and hip problems, but once our vet gave the ok, he was able to keep up with me on training runs up to seven miles at a time! He is always ready for a run, whether it's at 4:30 in the morning or after my husband and I get home from work, and his excitement when we pick up his leash is palpable.

We love Miles so much. His unconditional adoration for our entire family has changed our lives!
