Bailey is a conundrum.

Her original name was Petunia Butterfly, but she's from Bandera, Texas, the rough and tough Cowboy Capital of the World, and a name like that just didn't suit a rough and tough girl like her.

We met her tumbling down a hill via Homeward Bound Lab Rescue, and she looked like she'd grow into a full-size lab, but she surprised us by stopping at about thirty pounds. She sure looks like a tiny lab, but she took a DNA test once, and it said she's part spaniel, part unknown.

She loves people, but she hates cell phones.

She hates squirrels, but she loves cats.

She used to be afraid of kids, but now she sleeps outside our baby's room every night.

Bailey is a pup of many contradictions, but one thing is clear: we love her and are so glad she's part of our lives.
