Ace is a handsome senior pup who had been at the Austin Animal Center for several weeks. We were surprised to learn of his long stay in the shelter, even though he was a volunteer favorite and had even been featured as Pet of the Week on KVUE News. After seeing a request to foster him, we gladly took this sweet boy into our home.
We don’t know much about Ace’s history before he joined our family. An owner surrender, he’d had some human interaction but lived outside for the first ten years of his life. As a result, his manners were a bit rough around the edges, hiding his warm and friendly nature. But within a month, Ace quickly became accustomed to the comforts of the great indoors. He was easy to housetrain and learned to control himself in the kitchen when food was being prepared.
Ace won us over with his zest and zeal for life in spite of his hard past. We officially adopted him after a few weeks of fostering. Now, at eleven years old, Ace is active every day, loving walks around the neighborhood with his pack sister, Peanut. He’s a master napper, cozy snuggler, and all-around amazing companion. Not a day goes by without Ace "bandaging" our hearts with his love and kisses! We are so thankful to have him in our lives.
